This course equips learners with essential skills and practical competencies to assist patients in oral feeding safely, accurately, and with compassion - particularly within elderly, rehabilitative, and long-term care settings. Designed in response to Singapore’s ageing population and growing healthcare demands, the training focuses on applying hygiene standards, selecting patient-appropriate diets and thickeners, positioning patients correctly, and monitoring nutritional intake while responding to emergencies such as choking. Learners will engage in hands-on activities aligned with current healthcare protocols, enabling them to confidently perform feeding tasks, maintain proper documentation, and report abnormalities to nursing staff.
